La Revista Iberoamericana de Educación (RIE) es una publicación científica de la Organización de Estados Iberoamericanos (OEI), que tiene como objetivo proporcionar un foro de alta calidad a formuladores de políticas educativas, investigadores y profesionales de la educación, que deseen publicar hallazgos científicos, análisis, innovaciones o investigaciones sobre temas educativos, que puedan revertir en lograr una mejora en las políticas y sistemas educativos de Iberoamérica. La revista abarca estudios sobre temas educativos en el ámbito iberoamericano. Dichos estudios exploran contextos tanto en el sector público como en el privado, publicados en monográficos cuatrimestrales en español y/o en portugués. De esta forma lleva, desde el año 1993, difundiendo a nivel internacional los avances en investigación e innovación más relevantes sobre educación. Cada número monográfico de la revista está conformado por una selección de artículos, recibidos a través de convocatorias públicas sobre una temática en concreto. La coordinación de los números monográficos corre a cargo de uno o varios especialistas de reconocido prestigio en esa área de la educación. La RIE también edita números extraordinarios que complementan a los monográficos en otras áreas educativas. Estos números especiales, conformados por artículos recibidos en la redacción a través de convocatorias libres; son seleccionados, tras someterse, al igual que los monográficos, a una estricta política de evaluación científica de acuerdo a los estándares internacionales.
