Aims Food Science & Nutrition (FSN3) is an international, fully open access Wiley journal publishing rigorous, ethical, transparent, and impactful research that advances food science and nutritional science. The journal supports evidence-based practice and policy and contributes to healthier, more sustainable, equitable, and resilient food systems worldwide. Scope and Research Priorities Food Science & Nutrition welcomes fundamental, applied, translational, hypothesis-driven, and multidisciplinary research on foods, nutrients, dietary patterns, food ingredients, food processing and production systems, and their relationships with human or animal health, sustainability, and society. The journal prioritises studies that address important scientific questions and demonstrate appropriate novelty, methodological rigour, biological replication, analytical validation, statistical robustness, transparent reporting, and conclusions proportionate to the evidence. Manuscripts should provide mechanistic, nutritional, clinical, technological, environmental, industrial, societal, or policy insight and explain the broader significance, limitations, and potential application of the findings. For interdisciplinary submissions involving animals, plants, crops, traditional dietary materials, or food-derived bioactives, scope is determined by the primary scientific question and principal outcomes rather than by the biological source alone. Food or nutritional relevance must be central to the study design, analysis, interpretation, and conclusions. Incidental use of an edible species, dietary compound, feed ingredient, or traditional food material is insufficient to establish suitability. Food Science & Nutrition publishes Original Research Articles, Systematic Reviews, Meta-Analyses, Comprehensive Reviews, Research Methods Papers, Short Communications, Letters to the Editor, Commentaries, Perspectives, and Invited Editorials. Research Areas of Particular Interest Nutrition, Health, and Precision Nutrition Research on relationships among foods, nutrients, dietary patterns, nutritional status, and health, including nutritional epidemiology, clinical and public health nutrition, obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular and metabolic health, healthy ageing, life-course nutrition, dietary interventions, chronic disease prevention, personalised and precision nutrition, nutritional requirements, biomarkers, dietary behaviour, assessment, and robust causal-inference approaches.
