This includes bee breeding, rearing, maintaining and management, as well as the study of bee hive products. Specifically, articles within the following classifications can be submitted: Sociobiology and behaviour; Ecology and conservation; Evolution, phylogeny, and biogeography; Genetics and breeding; Pathology and parasitology; Bee management; Hive product science; Toxicology; and Physiology, biochemistry, and chemical ecology. The focus of studies related to hive product science, melissopalynology, and pollination must be towards bees and/or apiculture, not plants or humans. Articles within the aims and scope of the journal but of limited international interest or lacking any novelty are not considered. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure that the manuscript is written in appropriate English. If the minimal English language standard is not met, manuscripts will not be considered. All papers submitted to the journal undergo review by the editors and independent peer referees, and papers are accepted for publication only if they are of the required standard and have not been published elsewhere, except for papers that have been deposited on an online preprint server such as bioRxiv. Copyright of published papers is normally held by the International Bee Research Association.
