Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching publishes research that advances understanding of innovation in language education. The journal welcomes studies that investigate how innovations are conceived, designed, implemented, evaluated, adapted, scaled, and/or sustained across diverse educational contexts. Innovation may involve pedagogy, curriculum, assessment, professional development, technology, policy, learning environments, organisational change, or other forms of educational development. The journal is interested in both the outcomes of innovation and, crucially, the processes through which innovation is introduced, enacted, negotiated, refined, and maintained. We welcome empirical, conceptual, methodological, and review-based contributions that deepen understanding of innovation in language education. Studies may focus on classroom practice, institutional initiatives, professional learning, educational technologies, policy implementation, or broader systems of educational change. Contributions may examine successful innovations as well as challenges, failures, unintended consequences, and processes of adaptation. A defining characteristic of all submissions is that they contribute to knowledge about innovation itself. Authors should make explicit how their work advances understanding of innovation processes, including how innovations are conceptualised, implemented, evaluated, adapted, scaled, sustained, or experienced by stakeholders. The journal welcomes diverse methodological approaches, including qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, design-based, participatory, practitioner, synthetic and longitudinal research. We particularly encourage studies that generate practical and theoretical insights into the dynamics of educational change and innovation. To support the journal's focus, authors are required to discuss their contribution to understanding innovation in ( at minimum) both the Introduction and Conclusion sections of their manuscript. Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching accepts two types of articles: Full length research articles (no more than 8,000 words, and up to 9,000 words for research syntheses), which report on research whether it relates to pedagogy, policy, theoretical concepts or other relevant fields; 'Innovative practice' articles (4,000-5,000 words), which report on an innovation in teaching, materials development, or another practical element of learning and teaching, preferably with the inclusion of some sort
