index.comunicación es una revista científica en comunicación aplicada editada por IndexCom (asociación científica para la investigación y la acción en comunicación social) y la Universidad Rey Juan Carlos desde enero de 2011. En un sentido estricto, la revista asume como misión abarcar todos aquellos modos de comunicación que, a través de la ingente cantidad de canales antiguos o nuevos de información, pretenden un objetivo preestablecido, un logro. Entendemos como comunicación aplicada la que se orienta a un fin y es práctica comunicativa de aquellos ejercicios y técnicas capaces de lograr esa finalidad. La revista está dirigida a investigadores, docentes y profesionales del ámbito de la comunicación, incluyendo especialistas en publicidad, periodismo, comunicación organizacional, medios digitales y otras áreas afines. La revista dará prioridad preferente a los trabajos de investigación en esta materia, cumpliendo así con sus objetivos de: Publicar investigaciones originales y relevantes sobre Comunicación Aplicada, destacando sus usos, estrategias y resultados. Promover el debate académico y la reflexión crítica en torno a las nuevas tendencias y desafíos en el ámbito comunicativo. Garantizar la calidad y el rigor metodológico en cada publicación mediante un proceso de revisión imparcial y transparente. Favorecer el acceso abierto al conocimiento científico sin restricciones económicas para autores ni lectores. Impulsar la internacionalización de la revista, facilitando la colaboración entre investigadores de diversas instituciones y países. Es una revista científica arbitrada, que utiliza el sistema de evaluación externa por expertos (peer-review), bajo la metodología de pares ciegos (doble-blind review), conforme a las normas de publicación de la American Psychological Association (APA). El cumplimiento de este sistema garantiza a los autores un proceso de revisión objetivo, imparcial y transparente. index.comunicación se publica en acceso abierto por la vía diamante, por lo que no se cobra ningún tipo de cargo asociado al proceso editorial (APC, por sus siglas en inglés), tanto a los lectores como a los autores.
