Iheringia, Série Botânica, periódico de fluxo contínuo, editado pelo Jardim Botânico de Porto Alegre, Divisão de Pesquisa e Manutenção de Coleções Científicas/SEMAI-RS. Quando da sua criação em 1958, foi editado pelo Museu de Ciências Naturais e desde então destina-se à publicação de artigos, revisões e notas científicas originais sobre assuntos relacionados às diferentes áreas da Botânica. O nome da revista é uma homenagem ao pesquisador alemão, naturalizado brasileiro, Hermann von Ihering, por seus importantes trabalhos no campo das Ciências Naturais. Possui um amplo perfil e a missão de divulgar artigos, revisões e notas científicas originais e inéditas que versem sobre as áreas da Botânica, podendo serem redigidos em português, espanhol e inglês. Foco e Escopo A Iheringia, Série Botânica publica artigos científicos originais, de revisão, de opinião, metodológicas e notas científicas nas diversas áreas da Biologia Vegetal (sistemática e evolução, taxonomia, morfologia, anatomia, desenvolvimento, fisiologia, fitoquímica, citologia, palinologia, linmologia, biologia reprodutiva, ecologia, genética, etnobotânica, biogeografia, filogeografia e biotecnologia). A submissão e publicação dos artigos é gratuita, sem ônus para os autores. Para que a submissão seja aceita, o autor para correspondência deve preencher e assinar o formulário de submissão com a assinatura de todos os autores; o manuscrito deve original e não tenha sido submetido para outra revista; o manuscrito esteja de acordo com as normas desta revista para publicação e; se o artigo for aceito para publicação, esta só acontecerá na Iheringia, Série Botânica. Os autores são responsáveis pelo conteúdo científico, gramatical e ortográfico do artigo. O autor para correspondência pode solicitar a qualquer momento a retirada do seu manuscrito do processo de avaliação desde que envie um e-mail ao Editor-chefe. Os autores serão requisitados a enviar o certificado de verificação da língua inglesa ou espanhola por um tradutor cientifico especializado quando do aceite da submissão. Em janeiro de 2019, a Iheringia, Série Botânica adotou a forma de publicação contínua, sendo constituída por artigos que formam o volume anual.
