The British Journal of Educational Psychology publishes psychological research and Registered Reports that significantly contribute to the understanding and practice of education and advance the field in terms of theory related to educational psychology. Our journal is a premier platform for disseminating cutting-edge research in educational psychology, bridging the gap between theory, research, and practice. We aim to publish innovative studies with broad international relevance, providing significant insights into learning, teaching, and educational systems. We welcome submissions employing diverse methodologies, including experimental studies, longitudinal research, observational analyses of classroom behaviour, surveys, and interviews. Both quantitative and qualitative studies are encouraged, with a shared emphasis on rigorous empirical inquiry and methodological precision. Studies utilising mixed methods and interdisciplinary approaches are also highly valued. Different data types are also encouraged, including self-reports, learning outcomes, performance measures, and multimodal trace data using log files, eye movements, concurrent and retrospective protocols, facial expressions of emotion, and physiological sensors. We highly encourage the collection and analysis of different data types. Key selection criteria include the quality of the argument and execution, clarity in presentation, and the potential for educational impact. Contributions should advance our understanding of psychological principles and processes influencing learning, development, problem-solving, reasoning, and conceptual understanding across diverse educational contexts. We expect studies to have research questions grounded in real-world educational issues and which make a novel theoretical contribution to the literature. This could be achieved by addressing a substantive empirical gap in evidence for an established theory. Alternatively, studies could seek to extend an established theory through identifying and testing processes, mediators, and moderators that might explain previously theorised relations. In addition, studies could establish grounds to challenge an established theory. Rigorously conducted studies that do not make original substantive contributions, grounded in real-world educational issues, are unlikely to sent for peer review. The journal strives to foster a global dialogue, encouraging submissions that address contemporary challenges, such as technology-enhance
