Baltic Journal of English Language Literature and Culture

The Baltic Journal of English Language, Literature and Culture (BJELLC) is an open access multidisciplinary international scholarly journal, which is issued once a year by the University of Latvia (since 2011).The BJELLC aims to help scholars doing research in linguistics, literature and culture to share their knowledge worldwide through open access. As the journal covers a wide range of topics, it will be a valuable source for scholars, teachers and advanced students. The articles reflect theoretical and empirical interests of scholars from all over the world. The studies focus on synchronic and diachronic as well as comparative aspects of the English language, culture and literature. ISSN 1691-9971 (print)ISSN 2501-0395 (online) Each volume and each article have a DOI number. The DOI of the BJELLC is https://doi.org/10.22364/BJELLC Articles in the BJELLC are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 international (CC BY-NC 4.0) license since 2021. In order to prevent malpractice, all submissions are screened by the TurnitIn™ software. From 2026 it will be replaced by the CAPS plagiarism screening system. All journal volumes are available on the E-resource repository of the University of Latvia. Call for Papers (June–July 2026): Submission PauseThe Baltic Journal of English Language, Literature and Culture thanks all scholars, academics, and researchers from around the world for their enthusiastic response to our call for submissions for Volume 17 (Summer 2027). Important Update: Due to an overwhelming number of high-quality submissions, we have reached our capacity and are currently not accepting new papers.Submissions for the 2028 edition will open in March 2027. Please take into account that we neither accept papers for processing nor store submissions received prior to that date. Please check our website at that time for further updates.
