Метою видання є висвітлення результатів новітніх досліджень та досягнень філологічної науки за всіма напрямами і аспектами її розвитку та практичного застосування. Проблематика і завдання видання: - публікації статей, рецензій, оглядів з актуальних проблем лінгвістики, та літературознавства, зокрема теоретичної та прикладної лінгвістики, психолінгвістики та когнітивної лінгвістики, соціолінгвістики, лінгвокультурології, лінгводидактики, перекладознавства, діалектології, історії та теорії літератури, компаративних літературознавчих досліджень, літературної критики, бібліографічних та історико-архівних досліджень; - сприяння розвитку вітчизняної філологічної науки, її теоретичних та практичних надбань у взаємозв'язку із іншими галузями соціогуманітарного знання, зокрема філософії, естетики, культурології, мистецтвознавства, історії, психології, філософської антропології тощо; - зміцнення наукових зв'язків між дослідниками на всеукраїнському та міжнародному рівні.
