Scope

Aims, scope and focus

Veterinary Research Communications is published by Springer Netherlands and is in Zone 3 of Agricultural & Forestry Sciences in the CAS Journal Ranking (2025 upgraded edition). By OpenAlex counts of its recent articles, its largest topics are Animal Disease Management and Epidemiology, Microbial infections and disease research and Animal Virus Infections Studies, together about 18.2% of its articles. (generated from OpenAlex topic counts and CAS ranking data)

Veterinary Research Communications publishes fully refereed research articles and topical reviews on all aspects of the veterinary sciences. Interdisciplinary articles are particularly encouraged, as are well-argued reviews. The journal is an appropriate medium in which to publish new methods (with evidence of application), newly described diseases and new pathological findings, as these are applied to animals. As it deliberately seeks a wide coverage, Veterinary Research Communications provides its readers with a means of keeping abreast of current developments in the entire field of veterinary science. The journal does not accept submissions on translational medicine, such as studies in which animals are used as models for human diseases or for other species different from the one under study. Instead, the journal gladly accepts manuscripts focused on diseases in laboratory animals, whether they are used for research or as pets.
