Журнал «Вестник музыкальной науки» издаётся с 2013 г. по инициативе новосибирского музыковедческого сообщества. Периодичность – 4 раза в год. Включен в «Перечень российских рецензируемых научных журналов, рекомендованных Высшей аттестационной комиссией для опубликования основных научных результатов диссертаций на соискание ученых степеней доктора и кандидата наук» (по состоянию на 14.08.2026). Cогласно рекомендациям ВАК от 8.12.2023 г. входит в категорию К2 (второй квартиль) по специальностям: 5.10.1. Теория и история культуры, искусства (культурология), 5.10.1. Теория и история культуры, искусства (искусствоведение), 5.10.3. Виды искусства (искусствоведение) – музыкальное искусство. Статьи публикуются в порядке очередности после рецензирования. Информация для авторов расположена в разделах «Порядок приема и рецензирования материалов», «Требования к оформлению материалов». Плата за публикацию принимается на основании договора, заключенного между консерваторией (учредителем журнала) и автором. На основании приказа № 84-од от 05.04.2023 г. установлены следующие расценки за издательские услуги в журнале «Вестник музыкальной науки»: 1) для авторов, являющихся педагогами, сотрудниками и обучающимися Новосибирской консерватории – 500 руб. за 1 страницу (1800 знаков); 2) для иных авторов – 800 руб. за 1 страницу (1800 знаков). Гонорары за статьи не выплачиваются. Основатель журнала (главный редактор с 2013 по 2018 гг.) – заслуженный деятель искусств РФ, доктор искусствоведения, профессор Борис Александрович ШИНДИН. Главный редактор журнала с 2018 г. — доктор искусствоведения, кандидат философских наук, профессор Нина Павловна КОЛЯДЕНКО. Заявление об открытом доступе к содержанию журнала Все выпуски нашего журнала и все опубликованные материалы находятся в открытом доступе на странице Архив номеров. При копировании какого-либо содержания ссылка на журнал или авторов материала обязательна. Авторы материалов, публикуемых в журнале, соглашаясь на публикацию, предоставляют журналу право на размещение этих материалов в открытом доступе на сайте журнала в телекоммуникационной сети Интернет, о чем сообщают в соответствующем заявлении и лицензионном соглашении.
