هدف اصلی فصلنامه انتشار تحقیقات انجامشده در زمینة تربیت اسلامی، اطلاعرسانی علمی، فراهم آوردن زمینه برای تبادل نظر و تضارب آرای متفکران و محققان این رشته، فراهم آوردن زمینه برای تولید علم و اندیشه و نظریهپردازی در این زمینه و آماده کردن زمینة مناسب برای رشد و ارتقای هرچه بیشتر آموزش و پرورش رسمی کشور در راستای تطابق بیشتر با تعلیم و تربیت اسلامی است. موضوعاتی که مورد توجه فصلنامه است، به شرح زیر است: ٭فلسفة تعلیم و تربیت اسلامی ٭مکتبها و رویکردها در تعلیم و تربیت اسلامی ٭ فقه تربیتی ٭ مبانی، اصول و روشهای تعلیم و تربیت اسلامی ٭ تاریخ تعلیم و تربیت اسلامی ٭ آرا و اندیشههای تربیتی متفکران مسلمان ٭علوم تربیتی مانند مدیریت آموزشی، برنامهریزی درسی و آموزشی، روانشناسی تربیتی با نگاه اسلامی ٭ مباحث تطبیقی ٭ حیطهها و ابعاد تعلیم و تربیت در اسلام که تربیت اعتقادی، تربیت عبادی، تربیت اخلاقی، تربیت جنسی، تربیت سیاسی و غیره را شامل میشود. ٭ روششناسی تحقیق در تربیت اسلامی ٭ بررسی جنبههای مختلف آموزش و پرورش رسمی با دیدگاه اسلامی
