Tidsskrift for Professionsstudier er et videnskabeligt, open access og peer-reviewed tidsskrift, der tilvejebringer et fælles, nordisk forum for undervisere og forskere fra både professionshøjskoler og universiteter, hvor artikler af høj kvalitet publiceres og arkiveres samlet. I TfP sættes der fokus på professioners og uddannelsers særlige vilkår – samfundsmæssigt, kulturelt, etisk, organisatorisk, politisk og vidensmæssigt. TfP repræsenterer ikke én teoretisk skole eller tradition, men sigter tværtimod mod at fremme udveksling og samarbejde mellem forskere, undervisere og fagfolk, der arbejder med forskellige professionsorienterede tematikker. TfP har som overordnet mål at kaste kritisk lys over hele professionsfeltet og stimulere til nysgerrighed, refleksivitet og debat i professionernes forsknings- og uddannelsesmiljøer. TfP udkommer med to årlige temanumre, hvor der sigtes mod at præsentere, analysere og diskutere et bredt spektrum af professionsorientere emner i form af såvel teoretiske som empiriske og mere praksisreflekterende artikler. Der gives plads til såvel traditionelle forskningsartikler, artikler der beskæftiger sig med praksis, og artikler der rejser kritiske, konstruktive diskussioner. TfP organiseres typisk i temanumre, men modtager også gerne uopfordrede artikler, der bringes i en sektion ’Udenfor tema’. TfP indeholder endvidere en kritisk anmeldersektion med aktuelle og væsentlige bogudgivelser inden for professionsfeltet og tillige en sektion med præsentation af nyere ph.d.-afhandlinger. Artikler til TfP kan skrives på dansk, norsk eller svensk, og det tilstræbes i det hele taget at have en bred skandinavisk spredning i såvel redaktionen som hos artikelforfattere og fagfællebedømmere.
