Its wide thematic scope encourages conversations across the discipline and between the various subfields of anthropology. Research Articles contribute to contemporary debates in social and cultural anthropology. The journal’s Special Issue Section offers guest editors an opportunity to unravel anthropological topics and tropes from various perspectives in a series of articles, each contributing to the in-depth discussion of a unifying theme. The Special Issue section explores themes of relevance and sheds light on the current state of research in various subfields of the discipline. Contributions in the Current Research Section present and discuss preliminary findings of recent and ongoing research projects. With this format, the Swiss Journal of Sociocultural Anthropology especially encourages early career scholars to present first research results to a broader scientific readership. Make a new submission to the Current Research section. The Audio-Visual Anthropology Section provides a publishing platform for audio and visual interventions in social anthropology. Sensory perception is a fundamental form of engagement with the world; mediated through image and sound, this engagement allows us to explore, create, and share human, and more-than-human experiences. We seek contributions in film, photography, and sound that critically examine and creatively evoke social and political lifeworlds. We are looking for practice-based contributions that use media to produce theory or that think through and with images and sounds, and are accompanied by written text.
