Sancho el Sabio: Revista de Investigación Vasca-Euskal Ikerketa Aldizkaria es una revista científica que publica artículos originales, de temática interdisciplinar, en el ámbito de las Humanidades y las Ciencias Sociales. Está especializada en estudios vascos, entendidos en su sentido más amplio. Es una publicación de periodicidad anual, en formato digital, multilingüe y de acceso gratuito. Cuenta con los mejores especialistas en las diferentes áreas, que hacen que la calidad de la revista sea siempre excelente en los contenidos publicados. La revista se dirige, por tanto, a profesionales de las humanidades y las ciencias sociales, pero también a todas aquellas personas interesadas en cuestiones vascas. Presta especial atención a impulsar artículos de jóvenes investigadores, buscando un equilibrio entre la experiencia contrastada y la apertura a la juventud. En este sentido, se publican anualmente en la revista los trabajos ganadores del Certamen de Investigación Universitaria Fundación Sancho el Sabio, destinado desde 1998 a premiar trabajos de investigación de estudiantes universitarios de máster y doctorado. La revista la edita desde 1991 la Fundación Sancho el Sabio Fundazioa. Creada en 1955 con el nombre de Institución Sancho el Sabio por la Caja de Ahorros Municipal de la Ciudad de Vitoria, la Fundación Sancho el Sabio es un centro de documentación referente de la cultura vasca y depende actualmente de la Fundación Vital Fundazioa. El Boletín de la Institución Sancho el Sabio, origen de la actual Sancho el Sabio: Revista de Investigación Vasca, nació en 1957 y desapareció en 1981. Siguiendo su estela, la nueva Sancho el Sabio nació en 1991 y su primer número fue presentado en la Biblioteca Nacional de Madrid por el profesor Juan Pablo Fusi Aizpurua. En cuanto al idioma de publicación, dado que los artículos se publican en la lengua en la que se reciben, la inmensa mayoría son en español. Sin embargo, se procura publicar al menos un artículo en euskera en cada número, siempre que se reciban trabajos de calidad científica contrastada en este idioma. La revista está abierta a otros idiomas de uso común en la comunidad científica internacional: en concreto, se han publicado ya artículos en inglés y en francés. Todos los trabajos publicados en la Revista Sancho el Sabio deben ser originales, inéditos y no estar pendientes de publicación en otras revistas.
