فصلنامه «رویکردهای پژوهشی در علوم اجتماعی» در محور اصلی «پژوهش در حوزه علوم اجتماعی» به انتشار دستاوردهای اصیل پژوهشگران در قالب مقالات علمی مروری، ترویجی و پژوهشی می پردازد. محور اصلی نشریه فصلنامه به مقالههایی که در زمینة مسائل اجتماعی و علوم اجتماعی ایران باشد اولویت خاصی نسبت به سایر مقالهها قائل است. موضوعات نشریه جامعهشناسی، مردم شناسی و ارتباطات علوم سیاسی و روابط بینالملل حقوق فلسفه و فلسفه علم روانشناسی و تعلیم و تربیت اسلامی علوم مدیریتی برخی موضوعات پیشنهادی نشریه در بالا آورده شده است و الزاما به موارد ذکر شده محدود نمی باشد. نشریه از مقالات با هر دو رویکرد کیفی و کمی استقبال می نماید.
