La RIID pubblica contributi in tema di informatica giuridica e diritto dell'informatica – due ambiti scientifici che si intersecano e sovrappongono – dedicati a studi e analisi critiche sia sui problemi applicativi delle tecnologie dell’informazione e della comunicazione nel campo del diritto, sia sulla regolamentazione dello sviluppo dell’informatica e della telematica nelle società contemporanee. La Rivista accoglie saggi di informatica giuridica – in tema, fra l’altro, ad esempio, di documentazione giuridica automatica, sistemi informativi giuridici, strumenti digitali per la pubblica amministrazione e le professioni giuridiche, tecniche di intelligenza artificiale e di rappresentazione della conoscenza applicate al diritto, giustizia elettronica – e di diritto dell'informatica, di ambito sia giuspubblicistico (ad es., Internet e tutela dei diritti fondamentali; governance di Internet; impiego delle tecnologie dell’informazione in ambito pubblico, ecc.) sia giusprivatistico (ad es., regime giuridico dei social network; contrattualistica avente per oggetto beni e servizi telematici; protezione dei dati personali, ecc.). Ospita saggi in italiano e nelle principali lingue straniere come francese, inglese, portoghese, spagnolo e tedesco.
