A Revista Portuguesa de História é uma revista de periodicidade anual, cujos artigos são sujeitos a uma avaliação prévia por parte de uma comissão de arbitragem. Foi criada em 1941, no mbito do Instituto António de Vasconcelos, designado, desde 1975, Instituto de História Económica e Social. Esta Revista tem-se dedicado, desde a sua fundação, à publicação de estudos de investigadores portugueses e estrangeiros na área da História, desde a Antiguidade até à Época contempornea. A RPH está empenhada na divulgação dos resultados da investigação histórica nas áreas da História Portuguesa e Mundial, sob a forma de artigos. Processo de Revisão por Pares Todos os artigos aceites pelo Conselho de Redação serão submetidos a um sistema de arbitragem científica anónima, confiada a dois revisores externos. Em caso de necessidade, será auscultado um terceiro revisor. Em face dos pareceres recebidos, o Conselho de Redação pode determinar que os autores adotem as sugestões deles constantes e, no limite, pode declinar a aceitação do texto. Política de Acesso Livre Esta revista oferece acesso livre imediato ao seu conteúdo, seguindo o princípio de que disponibilizar gratuitamente o conhecimento científico ao público proporciona maior democratização do conhecimento. Arquivamento Esta revista utiliza o sistema LOCKSS para criar um sistema de arquivo distribuído entre as bibliotecas participantes e permite à s mesmas criar arquivos permanentes da revista para a preservação e restauração.
