Breve histórico A Revista Latino-Americana de Enfermagem (RLAE) é órgão oficial de divulgação científica da Escola de Enfermagem de Ribeirão Preto da Universidade de São Paulo e do Centro Colaborador da OPAS/OMS para o Desenvolvimento da Pesquisa em Enfermagem e tem como missão publicar resultados de pesquisas científicas de enfermagem e de outras áreas de interesse para profissionais da área de saúde.Caracteriza-se como periódico nacional, de circulação internacional que teve sua primeira edição publicada em janeiro de 1993. A versão impressa (ISSN 0104-1169) foi descontinuada em 2015. Adota o sistema de publicação em fluxo contínuo (rolling pass), com todos os artigos publicados nos idiomas Português, Espanhol e Inglês. A revista é afiliada à Associação Brasileira de Editores Científicos (ABEC) e indexada nas mais importantes bases indexadoras nacionais e internacionais. Acesso Aberto Este periódico adota o modelo de Acesso Aberto (Open Access), garantindo que todo o conteúdo científico publicado esteja disponível gratuitamente na internet, sem qualquer tipo de barreira financeira ou restrição de acesso.O Acesso Aberto é um princípio que assegura a democratização do conhecimento, no qual os autores, ao publicarem seus trabalhos, concedem permissão de uso por meio de licenças abertas, como a Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY).
