A Revista Famecos seleciona e publica artigos com potencial de impacto e de promoção do avanço da pesquisa científica na área da comunicação, nos seguintes campos: Jornalismo, Publicidade e Propaganda, Comunicação Organizacional, Indústria Criativa, Cinema e Audiovisual, Cibercultura, Mídia e Cultura, e Teoria da Mídia. As colaborações devem ser acompanhadas da indicação da seção à qual se destinam. Não publica textos de caráter essencialmente ensaísticos nem artigos baseados apenas em revisão bibliográfica, mas incentiva a submissão de resenhas críticas, de autoria individual, sobre a literatura publicada nos dois últimos anos.
