Además, con sus políticas de acceso abierto y sin cobro de tarifas por procesamiento de artículo (APC por su sigla en inglés), la revista busca contribuir al aumento de la literatura científica sobre ciencias de la salud y medicina en Colombia e Iberoamérica. Finalmente, al publicar sus contenidos únicamente en inglés (sin costo para los autores), la revista busca promover la visibilidad internacional de la producción científica realizada en Colombia y en la región, y por tanto, su factor de impacto.
