La Revista Eureka sobre Enseñanza y Divulgación de las Ciencias (REurEDC) tiene una doble finalidad. Por una parte, desea contribuir al desarrollo del conocimiento en el ámbito de la didáctica de las ciencias experimentales, tanto en un plano teórico como aplicado. Por otra parte, tiene como propósito aportar referentes para la práctica de la educación científica tanto de profesores como de formadores provenientes del ámbito de la educación no formal. Sus trabajos pretenden cubrir un amplio espectro del sistema educativo, que va desde la educación infantil hasta la universitaria, prestando atención también a aquellas formas de educación científica que se realizan de maneras y en entornos no formales o extraacadémicos. Aun cuando se considera que algunos temas multidisciplinares o transversales, tales como la educación para la sostenibilidad, la educación para la salud y el consumo, el conocimiento del medio en las primeras etapas educativas, o la formación del profesorado, también tienen cabida dentro de la revista, las aportaciones de este tipo deberían estar escritas inequívocamente como contribución desde y/o para la educación en ciencias experimentales. Deben evitarse, pues, temáticas generales o transversales sobre educación en las que el contenido científico o de didáctica de las ciencias solo ocupe un lugar pasivo o testimonial (por ejemplo, usado como simple excusa para desarrollar temas que no atañen a la didáctica de las ciencias), o en el que se aborden conjuntamente con otras didácticas específicas (didáctica de las ciencias sociales, de la ingeniería, de la matemática, etc.), ajenas a la ciencias experimentales. Las dos orientaciones principales de REurEDC son: a) Contribuir a la investigación y fundamentación en el ámbito de conocimiento descrito previamente. b) Promover la mejora educativa a través de una enseñanza enriquecedora, estimulante y fundamentada, mediante la cual se fomente el interés y el gusto por las ciencias. Para ello, REurEDC se estructura en siete secciones:
