A Revista Enfermagem Contemporânea (REC), criada em 2012 e mantida pela Escola Bahiana de Medicina e Saúde Pública, é um periódico científico de Acesso Aberto Diamante, gratuito e bilíngue, vocacionado para às interfaces entre a Enfermagem e a Saúde Coletiva.A missão da REC é fomentar a produção e a disseminação do conhecimento em Enfermagem, fortalecendo sua articulação com a saúde coletiva, a formação profissional e os desafios contemporâneos do cuidado em saúde. Nesse sentido, o objetivo consiste em fomentar o desenvolvimento crítico e inovação na área da enfermagem, com um enfoque ético na investigação baseada em evidências, contribuindo para a qualificação das práticas profissionais e académicas. A revista adota fluxo contínuo de avaliação e publicação, com revisão por pares no modelo de double-blind review, sob a Licença Creative Commons Atribuição (CC BY). Os pareceres emitidos pelos avaliadores integram o processo formativo dos autores, complementando a formação desenvolvida em sala de aula, em laboratórios e em atividades de extensão.
