A Revista Enfermagem UERJ publica trabalhos originais e inéditos nos campos da Enfermagem, Saúde e áreas afins, especialmente relacionados às áreas de Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica, Obstétrica, Pediátrica, Saúde Mental e Psiquiatria, Saúde Pública e Doenças Emergentes Reemergentes e Negligenciadas, tais como resultados de pesquisa, estudos teóricos, revisões críticas da literatura e discussão de temas atuais e relevantes para a saúde humana. O processo de avaliação por pares utiliza o sistema de dupla avaliação anônima. Caracteriza-se como periódico de circulação internacional, que adota diretrizes voltadas à promoção de Diversidade, Equidade, Inclusão e Acessibilidade na pesquisa científica (Diretrizes SAGER).
