La Revista Economía y Política es una publicación científica de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y Administrativas de la Universidad de Cuenca - Ecuador, cuyo objetivo es estimular el debate sobre fenómenos socioeconómicos a escala subnacional, es decir a nivel de región y de ciudad. En consecuencia, tiene un enfoque pluralista y multidisciplinar, que incluye estudios cuantitativos, cualitativos y mixtos. Son bienvenidos trabajos rigurosos y originales que enfrentan las dimensiones económica, política, social, institucional y ambiental. Trabajos sobre América Latina son particularmente bienvenidos. El objetivo principal de la revista es la difusión de resultados de investigación metodológica, estudios empíricos, estudios de caso y selectas revisiones del estado del arte; así como la promulgación de la lectura y discusión de las temáticas antes mencionadas.
