A Revista do GELNE é uma publicação semestral vinculada ao Grupo de Estudos Linguísticos do Nordeste. É um periódico consolidado que tem publicado regular e ininterruptamente volumes que reúnem pesquisas de significativa relevância científico-acadêmica para a consolidação da área de Letras e Linguística no Brasil – considerando as subáreas de Linguística Teórica e Descritiva, Linguística Aplicada e Literatura Comparada. A política editorial da Revista contempla a publicação regular de um volume a cada ano, subdividido em dois números atemáticos: um no primeiro semestre, outro no segundo semestre. A submissões de textos se dão conforme as chamadas para cada número. Também podem ser organizados dossiês temáticos, os quais são inseridos em um dos números de cada volume. A organização desses dossiês envolve a proposição por pesquisadores da área de estudos linguísticos e literários e depende de análise e de aprovação por parte das Editorias chefe e executiva. Além disso, pode ser publicada Edição Especial, a qual se soma aos números 1 e 2 do volume anual. Publicam-se na Revista apenas textos originais (no gênero artigo científico), em português, inglês, espanhol ou francês, sendo aceitos para submissão apenas textos inéditos que tragam contribuição efetiva à área na qual se inserem e que não estejam sendo submetidos a outros periódicos. A Revista do GELNE atende a uma demanda das regiões Norte e Nordeste do Brasil, no sentido de fomentar e de divulgar a pesquisa científica dessas regiões, sem, no entanto, ficar a elas restrita. A Revista do GELNE publica regulamente produções advindas de diferentes regiões e instituições do Brasil e do Exterior. O periódico é gerenciado por um Comitê editorial que se renova a cada 8 anos.
