La Revista de Matemática: Teoría y Aplicaciones publica artículos originales en Matemática, tanto teóricos como aplicados, o bien artículos de divulgación cuya presentación sea novedosa respecto a las presentaciones tradicionales del tema. Además, publica artículos sobre aplicaciones innovadoras de las matemáticas en campos afines. Los aspectos originales de cada artículo deben ser claramente expresados en la redacción. El objetivo de la Revista es ofrecer un espacio de divulgación de las ciencias matemáticas, tanto puras como aplicadas, a través de artículos originales, en América Latina. La Revista está dirigida a personal académico universitario y profesionales en matemáticas y ciencias afines que utilicen las matemáticas en su trabajo cotidiano de investigación y modelación. No se publican artículos en didáctica de la matemática, en filosofía de la matemática, ni en aplicaciones de las matemáticas básicas. No APC: La Revista no cobra ningún cargo a nadie por someter o publicar sus artículos. La Revista se publica semestralmente. La Revista publica dos números al año, el primero en el periodo enero-junio y el segundo en el periodo julio-diciembre.
