Salud UIS es una revista científica de acceso abierto, editada por la Universidad Industrial de Santander, que adopta el modelo de acceso abierto diamante, sin cargos para los autores por el envío, procesamiento o publicación de manuscritos. La revista tiene como propósito difundir conocimiento científico original y de alta calidad en salud pública, epidemiología, salud comunitaria y ciencias clínicas, con énfasis en la generación de evidencia relevante para la toma de decisiones en salud y la mejora de la salud individual y colectiva en diversos contextos. En este sentido, Salud UIS se posiciona como una plataforma para conectar la producción científica de contextos locales y regionales, incluyendo América Latina, con la comunidad científica global. Salud UIS está dirigida a investigadores, profesionales de la salud y tomadores de decisiones en áreas como medicina, enfermería, fisioterapia, odontología, nutrición, microbiología y disciplinas afines, interesados en el uso de la evidencia científica para la práctica clínica, la salud pública y la formulación de políticas. La revista publica artículos de investigación e innovación, artículos de revisión, artículos cortos, cartas al editor y editoriales, los cuales deben caracterizarse por su rigurosidad metodológica, relevancia científica e interés interdisciplinario. Todos los manuscritos son sometidos a un proceso de revisión “doble ciego” por revisores externos. Los artículos se publican en acceso abierto inmediato, en publicación continua. La revista promueve el cumplimiento de estándares internacionales de ética en publicación científica y buenas prácticas editoriales. Asimismo, fomenta la visibilidad y el alcance global de los artículos mediante la publicación en español e inglés.
