La Revista de la Secretaría del Tribunal Permanente de Revisión fue creada para la publicación de artículos académicos que traten temas generales del derecho como integración regional, organizaciones internacionales y en especial el derecho del MERCOSUR. Los idiomas de la revista son los idiomas oficiales del MERCOSUR: español, portugués, a partir del año 2020 se incorporó la opción de escribir en inglés y francés. A partir del año 2022, la revista adopta el sistema de publicación de artículos en flujo continuo, con un mínimo de 12 artículos al año de manera a contribuir en la difusión más rápida del conocimiento generado por los autores y dar más difusión a la revista. Aunque el proyecto tenga como finalidad central la difusión del derecho del MERCOSUR, la publicación no se restringe al derecho de la organización regional. Pueden integrar el proyecto producciones académicas que traten el marco jurídico mercosureño, como el derecho internacional general, el derecho internacional económico y el derecho de la integración.
