La Revista de Educación e Investigación en Emergencias es el órgano oficial de difusión científica de la Sociedad Mexicana de Medicina de Emergencia (SMME). Es una revista electrónica, trimestral, open access, revisada por pares externos, apegada a COPE e ICJME (ver Ética Editorial) que se edita en español o en inglés. Su misión es publicar desde la perspectiva científica de la Medicina de Urgencia, artículos originales de investigación, revisión y reportes de casos, entre otros trabajos, coordinados por un Comité Editorial y arbitrados por pares en un proceso cegado y con apego a los estándares internacionales, siembre buscando la solidez teórica y metodológica, con temas de actualidad y relevancia académica y clínica para los lectores, quienes estudian y practican la Medicina de Urgencia desde cualquier perspectiva. La revista tiene como visión ser una revista referente nacional e internacional de publicación en Medicina de Urgencia y Emergencias, con altos estándares de calidad y rigor metodológico, que incluya a los ámbitos del pre-hospital, enfermería, medicina (en todas sus especialidades), administración, educación e investigación. Su objetivo por tanto es difundir estudios, investigaciones, revisiones y reportes de caso, así como otras discusiones y controversias en el campo de la Medicina de Urgencia, con particular atención en Latinoamérica. Lo anterior para elevar el nivel académico, científico y técnico del personal que labora en los Servicios de Urgencias polivalentes o especializados, tanto extra- como intrahospitalarios.
