La Revista de Derecho Político se publica cuatrimestralmente en el Departamento de Derecho Constitucional de la Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) desde 1978. Con 122 números publicados, la Revista está especializada en materias de Derecho Constitucional, así como en cuestiones relacionadas con el Derecho Público, el Derecho de la Unión Europea, la Historia Constitucional y la Teoría del Estado. Además, la Revista de Derecho Político es una de las cuatro revistas españolas de Ciencias Jurídicas que han superado el proceso de evaluación de revistas académicas realizado por la Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología (FECYT) desde la primera convocatoria. Además, está incluida en Scopus (CiteScore 0,8 en 2023), Scimago Journal Rank (Q2 en Journal Rank Law 2023) y Jornal Citation Reports (JIF Q3 en 2023, Law). Los 3 primeros números de la Revista se publicaron bajo el nombre "Boletín Informativo del Departamento de Derecho Político" . Desde el número 4 se llamó "Revista del Departamento de Derecho Político" , hasta que en el número 8 (invierno de 1981) adoptó el nombre actual, de Revista de Derecho Político . Inicialmente, el responsable de la edición y publicación de la Revista era el Departamento de Derecho Político. Desde el número 22 (primavera 1986), en el que asumió la dirección de la Revista Antonio Torres del Moral, el responsable pasó a ser el Departamento de Derecho Constitucional de la UNED.
