La Revista de Ciencias de la Comunicación e Información, fundada en 1996, supuso una novedad en el panorama de las revistas de comunicación universitarias españolas. La Revista de Ciencias de la Comunicación e Información es una revista científica de carácter no comercial, editada por HISIN -Historia de los Sistemas Informativos-, con edición ininterrumpida desde su año de fundación. El proceso de evolución del conocimiento fue generando que, a los ejes temáticos planteados originalmente, se fueran añadiendo otros para responder a los nuevos espacios de saber generados en el siglo XXI.
