Política editorial A Revista de Arqueologia tem como público alvo toda a comunidade acadêmica e científica da Área de Arqueologia Brasileira e campos afins. A periodicidade da Revista de Arqueologia é quadrimestral, publicando sempre em Janeiro, Maio e Setembro, sendo que os números podem ser temáticos e/ou compostos por artigos submetidos em fluxo contínuo. Gostaríamos de enfatizar que a Revista aceita manuscritos originais explorando as mais variadas temáticas e debates a respeito de contextos brasileiros e suas conexões com o continente americano, assim como estudos comparativos e teóricos de outros lugares do mundo que contribuam para os estudos realizados no Brasil. As temáticas enquadram-se nas categorias do CNPq (Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico), são elas: Arqueologia (7.03.00.00-3), Arqueologia Histórica (7.04.03.00-7) e Arqueologia Pré-Histórica (7.04.02.00-0). A submissão de contribuições se dá em fluxo contínuo. O processo editorial de cada contribuição submetida ocorre dentro da ordem cronológica de recebimento das submissões, à exceção das contribuições que compõem números temáticos ou especiais. Serão aceitos para publicação trabalhos elaborados em português, espanhol e inglês. As categorias de contribuição são: artigos originais, artigos de revisão ou atualização, ensaios, resenhas, resumos de dissertação ou tese, notas, documentos inéditos, entrevistas e vídeos científicos. Não serão aceitos relatórios de pesquisas de campo. Estas categorias estão definidas nas instruções para os autores. No caso específico de artigos originais e artigos de revisão ou atualização, estes somente serão aceitos após serem submetidos à apreciação de, pelo menos, dois pareceristas ad hoc. A pertinência para publicação será avaliada pelos editores, no que diz respeito à adequação ao perfil e linha editorial da revista, e por pareceristas, no que diz respeito ao conteúdo e qualidade das contribuições. Notas, resumos de dissertações de mestrado e de teses de doutorado, resenhas, documentos inéditos, entrevistas, e vídeos científicos serão submetidos à apreciação dos editores. O tempo médio entre o recebimento da submissão e a avaliação do manuscrito, com decisão editorial, é de 3 a 6 meses após o envio. E o tempo médio entre a decisão editorial e a publicação do artigo, também é de 3 a 6 meses. Assim, o tempo médio entre o recebimento do artigo e sua publicação é de 12 meses.
