A RevSbau foi criada em 2006 pela Sociedade Brasileira de Arborização Urbana e hospedada na Escola Superior de Agricultura Luiz de Queiroz (ESALQ) – USP. A partir de 2018 passou a ser vinculada ao Programa de Pós-graduação em Engenharia Florestal da UFPR. É um periódico trimestral de pequeno porte, que devido a especificidade do tema, recebe em média 80 trabalhos por ano. É a única revista nacional especializada neste tema. A revista admite artigos originais ou revisão de contribuição científica em português, espanhol e inglês relacionados à Floresta Urbana com foco nas seguintes linhas de pesquisa: Silvicultura urbana, Ecologia urbana, Percepção ambiental urbana, Paisagismo e paisagem urbana, Planejamento e gestão florestal urbana. É um periódico gratuito de acesso aberto, por isso não há cobranças de taxas de submissão e nem de publicação. O tempo médio de tramitação dos trabalhos até a sua publicação fica em torno de cinco meses.
