La Revista Colombiana de Biotecnología es un medio especializado, interinstitucional e interdisciplinario, para la divulgación de desarrollos científicos y técnicos, innovaciones tecnológicas, avances en legislación, política y normatividad, tendencias de mercado, y en general, los diversos tópicos relativos a los sectores involucrados en la biotecnología, tanto en Colombia como en el exterior; así mismo, la revista se constituye en un mecanismo eficaz de comunicación entre los diferentes actores de la biotecnología. Es una revista sin ánimo de lucro. Por el carácter de la revista no cobra a los autores por publicar sus artículos, y tampoco a los subscriptores por acceder a la información. Es una publicación periódica especializada en temas concernientes al desarrollo teórico, aplicado y de mercado en la biotecnología.Su carácter interinstitucional e interdisciplinario en el entorno de la biotecnología. Publicará artículos originales de autores nacionales y/o extranjeros. La Revista Colombiana de Biotecnología (Rev. colomb. biotecnol.) es una publicación internacional de acceso abierto publicada desde 1998, su publicación es semestral. La revisión, gestión, producción y alojamiento en línea es financiada en su totalidad por la Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Bogotá-Colombia). Ni autores, ni lectores tienen cargo alguno por publicar o tener acceso a nuestra publicación. La revista se publica semestralmente y divulga resultados originales e inéditos de investigación sobre biotecnología. Los manuscritos pueden ser artículos de investigación, artículos de revisión, artículos de reflexión, artículos cortos o bionotas. Rev. colomb. biotecnol. cuenta con un comité científico y editorial compuestos por investigadores de reconocida trayectoria en sus áreas de especialidad. Criterios para la publicación La cantidad y la calidad de nueva información que sea de interés para los lectores son en general los criterios para la aceptación de publicación de los manuscritos. Con el objetivo de contribuir a la divulgación de conocimiento de vanguardia la revista publicará solamente manuscritos de interés general que cuenten con los siguientes criterios: originalidad, importancia e innovación, además, de ser de interés para científicos de otras áreas del conocimiento y de fácil comprensión para informar a lectores no especialistas.
