La revista nace como una inquietud de su Director, quien a través de años de práctica clínica en el Servicio de Medicina 1 y del Departamento Clínico de la UCR en el Hospital San Juan de Dios y enfrentarse a casos de diversa complejidad, cuya divulgación enriquece la literatura médica nacional e internacional, ha visto la necesidad de crear un espacio para la difusión del conocimiento médico derivado del proceso de Análisis Clínico en Medicina Interna, que inicia con una historia clínica y un examen físico completo, interpretación de estudios de laboratorio y gabinete orientados en la clínica, caracterización del paciente y finalmente, análisis propiamente dicho, con el fin de realizar un trabajo diagnóstico estructurado que permita definir la terapéutica óptima individualizada para cada caso. Sin dejar de lado, el reporte mismo del caso. También será de interés del grupo editorial incluir temas de investigación clínica y revisión de temas de actualidad médica.
