A Revista Brasileira em Promoção da Saúde – RBPS foi estabelecida em 1984 com um enfoque sólido na Promoção da Saúde, abrangendo seus campos de atuação: políticas públicas, ambientes saudáveis, capacitação comunitária, desenvolvimento de habilidades individuais e coletivas, e reorientação dos serviços de saúde. E ainda, busca articular a promoção da saúde com a área da Saúde Coletiva e suas interseções. Tem como missão fomentar o desenvolvimento da Promoção da Saúde/Saúde Coletiva por meio da publicação científica advinda de ações e pesquisas de relevância e correlação com estas áreas. A revista verifica existência de similaridade em todos os manuscritos submetidos, antes de enviar para a revisão por pares. A Revista Brasileira em Promoção da Saúde passou a implementar o formato de publicação contínua de artigos a partir de janeiro de 2019. Dessa forma, a RBPS segue as práticas internacionais de publicação científica, acelerando a comunicação e os resultados de pesquisas. Ressalta-se que a RBPS é afiliada à Associação Brasileira de Editores Científicos (ABEC). Além disso, integra o Fórum de Editores de Saúde Coletiva da ABRASCO, juntamente a outros periódicos de renome no campo da Saúde Coletiva.
