A missão da revista está orientada pela compreensão da relação Brasil/Caribe. Temáticas: Estudos Caribenhos Multidisciplinares; Relação Brasil/Caribe; Conexões Culturais Afro-Americanas; Brasil/Caribe em perspectiva Global e Conectada. A Revista Brasileira do Caribe segue as diretrizes sobre conduta em pesquisas e publicações científicas fornecidas pelo Comitê de Ética em Publicações (COPE) <https://publicationethics.org/about>. ______________________________ POLÍTICAS DA REVISTA BRASILEIRA DO CARIBE Política de Isenção de Taxas A Revista Brasileira do Caribe não cobra taxas para processamento de artigos (APCs - Article processing), nem para sua disponibilização aos autores e demais leitores. Política de Avaliação por Pares A Revista Brasileira do Caribe possui uma política de "double-blind" review para artigos. Todo o processo editorial e, em específico, o de avaliação pelos pares se dá sob inteira responsabilidade e supervisão do Editor-chefe e acontece da seguinte forma: Artigos de fluxo contínuo e temática livre: leitura prévia do texto submetido, realizada pela equipe editorial, objetivando verificar conformidade e aderência ao escopo da revista; em caso positivo, o texto submetido é inicialmente enviado para 2 (dois) avaliadores que contenham conhecimento acerca do tema do artigo – na sua maioria externos à instituição, no intuito de garantir a exogeneidade; em caso negativo, os responsáveis pela submissão recebem primeiro contato informando a carência de adesão. Neste passo, há tanto a possibilidade de recusa imediata quanto o envio de sugestões para adequação aos parâmetros da RBC; aos artigos que recebem parecer de sondagem positivo, o caso de dois pareceres favoráveis, o texto submetido é ACEITO para publicação. Quando o artigo possui um parecer aceito e outro recusado, a RBC envia o artigo para um terceiro avaliador. Se a decisão do terceiro avaliador for de recusa, o parecer final é RECUSADO. No entanto, se o terceiro avaliador aceitar o artigo, a equipe editorial da revista deverá analisar os três pareceres e analisar se o artigo será ACEITO COM MODIFICAÇÕES ou RECUSADO. Artigos componentes de edições especiais ou de dossiês temáticos: recebem a mesma supervisão do Editor-chefe; passam pelo mesma política de "double-blind" review; são identificados como especiais quando da sua public
