Scope
Aims, scope and focus
Revista Brasileira de Linguistica Aplicada is published by Universidade de Minas Gerais. By OpenAlex counts of its recent articles, its largest topics are Linguistics and Education Research, EFL/ESL Teaching and Learning and Discourse Analysis in Language Studies, together about 43.1% of its articles. Its main subfields are Literature and Literary Theory. (generated from OpenAlex topic counts and CAS ranking data)
RBLA focuses on promoting research in the field of Applied Linguistics through the publication of original articles that address the phenomena related to real-life language use. Its work ranges from reflections on language teaching and learning to contemporary social issues where language occupies a central role. We emphasize that articles that understand Applied Linguistics as mere application of linguistic theories are not accepted by the journal, nor are those that restrict their discussion to the field of education without considering aspects inherent to the field of language. Interviews are accepted, provided they contain bibliographic references and a document authorizing the disclosure of the piece by the interviewee.
