Objetivo La Revista Biomédica del Centro de Investigaciones Regionales "Dr. Hideyo Noguchi" de la Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán tiene como objetivo fundamental "Difundir el conocimiento científico relevante del campo de la biomedicina, a través de productos originales de investigación científica cuyo contenido sea reproducible por otros autores y que representen una contribución al desarrollo de la ciencia". Enfoque y alcance La Revista Biomédica publica los siguientes tipos de manuscritos: artículos originales, artículos de revisión, comunicaciones breves, casos clínicos, editoriales, cartas al editor, semblanzas académicas e historia de la ciencia. Los artículos originales son informes de resultados de investigaciones clínicas o experimentales sobre aspectos etiológicos, patológicos, fisiológicos, epidemiológicos, diagnósticos y terapéuticos relacionados con la biomedicina. Los protocolos de investigación a partir de los cuales se obtuvieron estos resultados deben haber sido aprobados por el Comité de Ética correspondiente; señalarlo en la sección de Materiales y Métodos, y los autores deberán anexar una copia del dictamen de aprobación. Los artículos de revisión son por invitación, aunque las contribuciones espontáneas son bienvenidas, previa evaluación editorial. Deberán contener información detallada y actualizada sobre la temática tratada, con bibliografía no mayor de 5 años, salvo referencias clásicas o relevantes (que no excedan el 10% del total de referencias). Los casos clínicos presentarán la experiencia de su autor en el diagnóstico, las manifestaciones clínicas, el tratamiento y la evolución de casos de interés actual en la biomedicina clínica, o bien la presentación de casos clínicos inusitados o de manifestaciones clínicas no descritas. Los protocolos de investigación a partir de los cuales se obtuvieron los resultados deberán ser aprobados por el Comité de Ética correspondiente, y los autores deberán anexar una copia del dictamen de aprobación. Las comunicaciones breves presentarán resultados y hallazgos clínicos, experimentales o epidemiológicos de forma abreviada, así como investigaciones parciales o cortas que, por su relevancia, ameriten ser difundidas con rapidez. Los editoriales son por invitación, aunque se aceptan contribuciones espontáneas. Son aportaciones que presentan un análisis y, por lo general, un juicio sobre temas de biomedicina de gran relevancia e interés general, y reflejan la ideología y la postura del autor al respe
