Results in Engineering (RINENG) is a gold open access journal offering authors the opportunity to publish in all fundamental and interdisciplinary areas of engineering. Results in Engineering accepts papers that are scientifically sound, technically correct and provide valuable new knowledge to the engineering community.Subject coverage includes all aspects of Engineering:Aerospace EngineeringCivil EngineeringElectronics EngineeringElectrical EngineeringEnergy and Power EngineeringGreen & Sustainable EngineeringCarbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS)Structural EngineeringMaterials Engineering Mechanical EngineeringBiomedical/Bio-EngineeringComputersAI and ML EngineeringOcean, Offshore and Marine EngineeringFluid DynamicsReduced Order ModellingChemical & Environmental EngineeringLow-carbon materialsPlease note that an element of novelty, and not only the re-application of a known AI algorithm to existing problems, is required in papers submitted to the Computers, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning section. Manuscripts where AI/ML is the core scientific contribution, not merely a tool, while maintaining a clear engineering focus, will be prioritized. Furthermore, submissions that are not clearly grounded in engineering are considered out of scope for this journal. A clear engineering problem, system, or process must be addressed.Materials Engineering papers should include a clear element of application. Papers concerning dye degradation must include consideration of emerging contaminants.Submissions to the Chemical and Environmental Engineering section of the journal must show an engineering focus; papers that focus solely on ecology or toxicity analysis, for example, are not relevant and will not be considered for publication. Results in Engineering welcomes two types of papers: Full research papers Micro-articles: very short papers, no longer than two pages. They may consist of a single, but well-described piece of information, such as: Data and/or a plot plus a description Description of a new method or instrumentation Negative results Concept or design study This article type will allow the engineering community to publish snippets of research that have not matured into a complete study and that have not found a publication home yet.Review papers may also be accepted upon invitation by a journal Executive Editor or Editor. Authors, please note: Results in Engineering now seeks reviews that provide more than literature surveys. Authors should deliver critical analysis, assess the strength of the evidence, and present forward-looking perspectives and recommendations from domain experts. Such reviews should clearly articulate gaps in knowledge, potential risks or limitations, and concrete directions for future research and practice in engineering. Papers without a strong component of critical analysis and forward-looking opinion will not be considered for publication.
