Renaissance Studies is a multi-disciplinary journal which publishes essays on all aspects of Renaissance history and culture. Our articles range over art, architecture, history, literature, philosophy, politics, religion and science. Our focus is global as well as European, and we interpret the "Renaissance" flexibly, both as a time period, c. 14th–17th century and as an idea. As well as high-quality individual articles, the journal publishes themed Special Issues. All our essays are peer reviewed. We also welcome editions of important documents, which can appear in their original languages, with introduction, textual apparatus, notes and translations. The journal contains a substantial book reviews section and illustrated reviews of major exhibitions worldwide.
