Publicação quadrimestral do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação - Mestrado e Doutorado da UNISC, comprometida com a discussão das problemáticas contemporâneas da área educacional, compreendidas em sua historicidade e complexidade. Em sua função de divulgar a produção científica da área da educação e afins, que em seu conjunto constituem um processo de mediação entre a ação e a reflexão da práxis pedagógica, conta com a contribuição de educadores e pesquisadores ligados a instituições de expressão nacional e internacional. Desde sua origem, em 1992, a linha editorial da revista tem sido expressão das mediações educativas do Departamento de Educação da UNISC, através do foco nos temas da formação de professores e educação popular. Na medida em que se ampliaram as ações de educação e pesquisa na universidade, com a criação do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação, expande-se o universo temático da revista Reflexão e Ação para contemplar as diferentes linhas de pesquisa do Mestrado. Vinculada à área de ciências humanas e sociais, especificamente à educação, esse periódico visa contribuir para enfatizar o fato de que diante da magnitude dos desafios da área, pensar ainda é uma ação possível e, do mesmo modo, necessária.
