Race Ethnicity and Education is the leading international peer-reviewed journal on race and racism in education. The journal serves as a platform for innovative, critical, and transdisciplinary scholarship that explores the evolving and enduring role of race and racism in the educational experiences of Communities of Color across the diaspora. Through the transformation of education theory, policy, praxis and pedagogy, we seek to explore how communities around the world seek racial justice. Race Ethnicity and Education welcomes scholarship that advances our knowledge of anti-racist and anti-colonial approaches to educational research and praxis. We encourage contributions that engage intersectional frameworks (e.g. race, class, gender, language, immigration status, sexuality, ability) to disrupt structures of power that mediate inequitable access, opportunity, and outcomes in education. REE aims to cultivate dialogue across disciplines and geographies to link scholars, educators, communities, and policymakers committed to reimagining and building educational futures grounded in justice, humanity, and liberation. Race Ethnicity and Education is supported by the AERA Critical Examination of Race, Ethnicity, Class and Gender in Education Special Interest Group and the BERA ‘Race’ Ethnicity and Education Special Interest Group. All manuscripts that take whiteness as their focus are better placed in REE's sister publication Whiteness & Education and will not be considered by REE. Peer Review Policy: All research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymized refereeing by at least two anonymous referees.
