Концепція збірника базується на комплексному науковому, фаховому висвітленні актуальних проблем використанням просторових підходів, географічних інформаційних систем, засобів дистанційного зондування землі в різних галузях історичної науки. Збірник є платформою для обміну результатів досліджень наукового співтовариста. Цілі збірника: відображення результатів науково-дослідної, науково-практичної та експериментальної діяльності вітчизняних і зарубіжних вчених відповідної галузі науки; надання «майданчика» для наукових дискусій, обміну думками з актуальних питань історичної науки; консолідація наукового співтовариства. У збірнику розглядається широкий спектр важливих теоретико-методологічних і практичних проблем різних галузей історичної науки, пов’язаних із використання просторових методів. Зокрема, у виданні друкуються статті з питань археології, етнографії, історичного-краєзнавства, музеєзнавства, історії України, загальної історії, спеціальних історичних дисциплін, публікуються джерела, рецензії, посвяти, анонси тощо.
