Scope
Aims, scope and focus
Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics is published by Elsevier and is in Zone 1 of Physics & Astronomy in the CAS Journal Ranking (2025 upgraded edition, Top journal). By OpenAlex counts of its recent articles, its largest topics are Quantum Chromodynamics and Particle Interactions, Particle physics theoretical and experimental studies and Nuclear physics research studies, together about 44% of its articles. Its main subfields are Nuclear and High Energy Physics. (generated from OpenAlex topic counts and CAS ranking data)
Taking the format of four issues per year, the journal aims to discuss new developments in the field at a level suitable for the general nuclear and particle physicist and, in greater technical depth, to explore the most important advances in these areas. Most of the articles will be in one of the fields of nuclear physics, hadron physics, heavy ion physics, particle physics, as well as astrophysics and cosmology. A particular effort is made to treat topics of an interface type for which both particle and nuclear physics are important. Related topics such as detector physics, accelerator physics or the application of nuclear physics in the medical and archaeological fields will also be treated from time to time.If this journal is a good fit for your review article, you can find out more via the Guide for Authors and submit using the LaTeX template.
