A PORTVGALIA, Revista de Arqueologia do Departamento de Ciências e Técnicas do Património da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, identificada com os ISSN 0971-4290 e eISSN 2183-3516, iniciou a sua publicação em 1980 e, desde então, mantém periodicidade anual. A PORTVGALIA assume-se como um espaço de discussão em torno das grandes questões teóricas e metodológicas da Arqueologia; em paralelo, afirma-se enquanto instrumento de comunicação, e disseminação dos mais recentes resultados da investigação arqueológica nas suas diversas áreas cronológicas (Pré-História, Proto-História, Arqueologia Clássica, Arqueologia Medieval e Arqueologia Moderna e Contemporânea), assim como de problemáticas inerentes. A PORTVGALIA é uma revista científica indexada, com acesso aberto (open access), que potencia a leitura integral e/ou transferência completamente gratutita de todos os conteúdos publicados, garantindo a ampla divulgação dos seus recursos. É totalmente isenta de custos de processamento para os autores que submetem artigos originais (non-APC), obrigatoriamente sujeitos a arbitragem científica, plasmada na revisão por pares aberta (open peer review). Editada pelo Departamento de Ciências e Técnicas do Património da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto, e com importância reconhecida no panorama das publicações científicas portuguesas de Arqueologia,encontra na divulgação e debate dos resultados da investigação arqueológica dotada de rigor e qualidade a sua missão primordial. Do ponto de vista geográfico, privilegia o território atualmente português e o Noroeste Peninsular, muito embora publique igualmente resultados de investigações científicas centradas noutras áreas da Península Ibérica.
