Scope

Aims, scope and focus

Plant Nano Biology is published by Elsevier and is classed under Biology in the CAS Journal Ranking. By OpenAlex counts of its recent articles, its largest topics are Nanoparticles: synthesis and applications, Plant Stress Responses and Tolerance and Polymer-Based Agricultural Enhancements, together about 43.9% of its articles. Its main subfields are Plant Science. (generated from OpenAlex topic counts and CAS ranking data)

Plant Nano Biology aims to publish high-quality research on the interactions between nanoparticles, plants (lower and higher) and plant associated micro-organisms as well as the resulting impacts on plant growth, development, and productivity. The studies investigating the growth promotion and toxicity in plants due to nanoparticles, the possible ways to assess the mechanisms involved in these interactions and the responses shown by plants are central to our journal. We aim to publish high quality peer-reviewed papers addressing the various nanoparticle-induced impacts in plants. Our journal will commit to rapid dissemination of results to the readers across the globe without compromising quality standards assessment for the publication. This journal will encompass the broad spectrum of nano-enabled materials usage in plants and its related aspects. All levels of plant-nanoparticle-microbiome interaction either molecular, cellular, biochemical, physiological, and ecological levels, including mechanisms involved in providing the growth and yield promotion as well as abiotic and biotic stress resistance in plants, fall within the scope of this journal. Plant Nano Biology willwelcome high-grade submissions related (but not limited) to interactions between plants, nanoparticles and microbiome in the form of research articles, as well as review articles and short communications. The content is distributed among the following main subject areas supervised by Subject Editors, specialized in the respective domain:Plant mediated and chemically synthesized nanoparticlesNanoparticle effects on plant growth, development, differentiation and productivityMechanisms of nanoparticle uptake, translocation, accumulation, and transformation in plantsBiochemical and metabolic responses of plants to nanoparticle exposure Nanoparticle interactions with plant photobiology: photosynthesis, biochemistry (including enzymology), physiology, cell biologyPlant Nano-biotechnology and Molecular Nano-biology: Genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, genetics, functional breeding, nanobionics, and systems biologyNanoparticle interactions with plant hormones, signaling pathways, and regulatory networks.Nanoparticles interactions with plants and associated microorganisms, including plant-microbe symbioses and responses to abiotic and biotic stressesNano-fertilizers, Nano-pesticides, nanosensors, nano priming, and smart crop management technologiesNanotechnology for soil health, rhizosphere processes, and nutrient dynamicsNanotechnology for sustainable agriculture, climate resilience, resource-use efficiency, and crop productivityAI and nanosensors for crop and soil monitoring including pathogens, toxins, contaminants, pesticide residues and precision agriculture.Nano-encapsulation and nano-delivery systems for plant-derived nutrients, bioactive compoundsNanotechnology for improving nutritional quality, shelf-life, and food safety Environmental fate, transport, transformation, and ecotoxicology of nanomaterials including nano plastics in plant-soil ecosystemsIt is a forum that will advance world class research by publishing articles in the areas of nanobiotechnology, plant-nano interaction and role of nanomaterials in crop plants. It will serve as a platform for presentation, scrutiny and discussion of the research going on in these fields. Keywords: Plant and nanoparticles; Nanoparticles and plant growth; Nano nutrients; Nanoparticles and plant stress; Nanosensors; Nanotechnology and plants; Nanoparticles and oxidative stress; Nanoparticles and plant development; Nanoparticles and plant health; Nanopesticides, Nanofertilizers; Nanoparticles and plant biology; Nano-biotechnology, Plant-nanoparticle-microbiome etc.
