Scope
Aims, scope and focus
Physiological Genomics is published by American Physiological Society and is in Zone 4 of Biology in the CAS Journal Ranking (2025 upgraded edition). By OpenAlex counts of its recent articles, its largest topics are Adipose Tissue and Metabolism, Genetic Mapping and Diversity in Plants and Animals and MicroRNA in disease regulation, together about 25.7% of its articles. Its main subfields are Genetics. (generated from OpenAlex topic counts and CAS ranking data)
The Physiological Genomics publishes original papers, reviews and rapid reports in a wide area of research focused on uncovering the links between genes and physiology at all levels of biological organization. Articles on topics ranging from single genes to the whole genome and their links to the physiology of humans, any model organism, organ, tissue or cell are welcome. Areas of interest include complex polygenic traits preferably of importance to human health and gene-function relationships of disease processes. Specifically, the Journal has dedicated Sections focused on genome-wide association studies (GWAS) to function, cardiovascular, renal, metabolic and neurological systems, exercise physiology, pharmacogenomics, clinical, translational and genomics for precision medicine, comparative and statistical genomics and databases. For further details on research themes covered within these Sections, please refer to the descriptions given under each Section.

Fees & open access
APC and open-access policy
A subscription journal in which authors can pay to publish their article open access.
No source has fee information yet; check the journal's website.
A hybrid journal charges the APC only when the author chooses open access; publishing under the subscription model is usually free.
The journal's website is authoritative for fees; sources were observed at different times and each keeps its own value, without averaging.
