Perfiles Latinoamericanos es una revista cuyo propósito es difundir la investigación original en ciencias sociales. Publica contribuciones inéditas, productos de investigaciones originales en los campos de las ciencias sociales (la ciencia política, la sociología, las políticas públicas, las relaciones internacionales, la administración pública y la antropología) que tengan por objetivo el estudio de la región o de casos ubicados en la región. La publicación tiene tres secciones principales: artículos, ensayos y reseñas de libros. La periodicidad es semestral, se publican dos números por año (enero y julio) en formato electrónico y en acceso abierto. La convocatoria de recepción de manuscritos está permanentemente abierta. La revista nació en 1992 como una publicación de la Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales, sede México. A lo largo de su existencia se ha destacado por su contribución al debate académico en torno a problemáticas relevantes de América Latina, así como por impulsar la comunicación del conocimiento original desde la región.
